Compact Full-Frame Cinema Prime

The DZOFILM Thypoch Simera-C 50mm T1.5 Cine Lens is built for full-frame Leica M-mount cameras. Its bright T1.5 maximum aperture excels in low-light conditions. The ultracompact design suits handheld, low-angle, and gimbal work. Cinematographers needing a fast, lightweight prime for M-mount bodies will find it fits directly.

16-Blade Iris and Optical Design

Sixteen aperture blades produce smoothly rounded bokeh across the T1.5 to T16 range. Aspherical, low-dispersion, and high-refractive elements reduce chromatic aberrations. Multilayer coating minimises flares and ghosting while improving contrast. These optical traits deliver a natural, high-resolution look without extra filtration.

Native Leica M Mount

The lens ships with a native Leica M mount for direct attachment. Adapters allow use on Canon EF, Canon RF, Leica L, Nikon Z, and Fujifilm X systems. A PL-to-M adapter enables compatibility with ARRI ALEXA and Sony VENICE cameras. Builders requiring a native PL or E-mount cinema lens without adapters should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 16-blade iris mechanism need servicing after heavy use?

The 16-blade iris is a precision mechanical component; regular professional cleaning and lubrication will maintain smooth aperture changes over time.

What optical limit appears first during extended shooting at T1.5?

Sustained wide-open use can reveal residual chromatic aberration that the aspherical, LD and HR elements are designed to minimise.

How much heat does the 2.64" barrel generate during all-day operation?

The compact all-metal barrel dissipates heat passively and remains comfortable to handle during continuous production use.
