Questions about this item

Does the 1.7 mm inner-diameter tip wear out and need replacement?

The 1.7 mm inner / 4.8 mm outer barrel is a fixed part of the cable; if the tip becomes loose or damaged the whole adapter must be replaced.

What limits continuous operation of the 65 W output first?

Sustained 65 W at 18.5 V / 3.5 A is limited by the adapter’s thermal design; prolonged full-load use will hit temperature limits before any electrical limit.
