Questions about this item

Does the 65W adapter run hot or make noise when powering a Compaq Presario X1061 all day?

The unit is a sealed 65W 18.5V 3.5A power brick with no moving parts, so it stays silent and only warms to normal operating temperature under continuous load.

What must I already own for this 1.7 mm by 4.8 mm barrel connector to work with my laptop?

You need a Compaq Presario X1061, X1061ap or X1062 that accepts an 18.5V 3.5A input; the package includes the AC cord, so only a matching DC jack on the notebook is required.
