Upgrades a lost or failed original charger

The adapter replaces the factory unit when the original is missing, damaged or no longer holds a charge. It is not suitable for laptops that require a different voltage, current rating or connector size. Buyers needing a higher-wattage supply for docking stations or discrete-graphics configurations should verify their device specifications before purchase.

Questions about this item

What connector dimensions does the 65W adapter need to fit my HP laptop?

The DC plug has an internal diameter of 1.7 mm and an external diameter of 4.8 mm, matching the HP Dv5191ea, Dv5192ea and Dv5193ea charging ports.

How is the AC adapter installed and what step is often missed?

Connect the included AC power cord to the adapter brick, plug the cord into a 100–240V 50–60Hz wall outlet, then insert the DC plug firmly into the laptop until it seats; the step people miss is pushing the barrel connector in fully so the 1.7 mm centre pin makes solid contact.
