Double-Conversion 120V UPS for Critical Loads

The Eaton 9PX1500RT is a 1500 VA online double-conversion UPS delivering 1350 W of conditioned 120 V power. It accepts a wide 100–140 V input range at 50 or 60 Hz and connects via a NEMA 5-15P plug. Eight NEMA 5-15R outlets supply protected equipment in a 2U rack or tower form factor.

Zero-Transfer Topology and Efficiency Limits

Double-conversion operation provides 0 ns transfer time and continuous power conditioning for sensitive electronics. The unit reaches up to 93 percent efficiency in this mode. Management relies on an RS-232 interface and included software; a cybersecure network card slot is available for optional remote monitoring.

Runtime Scaling from Full to Light Loads

Battery runtime is approximately 4 minutes at 1350 W, 11 minutes at 675 W and 23 minutes at 337.5 W. Sealed lead-acid batteries are user-replaceable to extend service life. The UPS is not suited for loads exceeding 1350 W or for applications requiring extended runtime without additional battery modules.

Questions about this item

How do I pick the right VA or wattage rating for my load?

This model delivers 1500 VA and 1350 W. Total the watts of every device you will plug in; if the sum stays below 1350 W the UPS can support it.

What does the 1350 W rating mean once the unit is installed?

It is the maximum real power the inverter can supply continuously. At that full 1350 W load the battery lasts around 4 minutes; at 675 W it lasts around 11 minutes; at 337.5 W it lasts around 23 minutes.

What management interface does the UPS provide and what does it limit?

An RS-232 port is built in for monitoring and shutdown software. The serial link caps cable length and speed, so the management station must be close to the rack.
