A NEMA magnetic motor starter with electronic overload protection adjustable from 1 to 5 A and trip classes 10, 20, and 30
The Eaton AN19DN0A5E005 is a NEMA-rated magnetic motor starter built for non-reversing three-phase applications. It mounts on a surface and uses an electronic overload relay that can be set between 1 and 5 amperes. The coil operates at 120 volts AC while the power contacts are rated up to 600 volts AC. One normally-open auxiliary contact is included for status signalling or interlocking.
The single 1NO auxiliary contact changes state when the starter energises, giving a simple way to drive a pilot light or feed a PLC input without extra relays. Trip class can be selected from 10A, 10, 20 or 30 to match the motor’s acceleration profile, reducing nuisance trips on high-inertia loads. Electronic overload protection replaces traditional heater elements, so there are no parts to swap when the motor rating changes.
The starter only runs the motor in one direction; applications needing forward and reverse must use a different device. Overload adjustment stops at 5 amperes, so motors drawing more current require a larger frame. The 120-volt AC coil voltage is fixed, so control circuits at other voltages need a separate transformer. Trip class selection is limited to the four preset values listed.

The electronic overload relay is factory-calibrated and has no user-serviceable parts; it is designed to operate continuously within its 1 A to 5 A setting range without scheduled recalibration.
The overload relay will trip according to the selected Trip Class 10A, 10, 20 or 30 curve once the sustained current exceeds the 5 A maximum setting.
The coil draws standard NEMA holding power at 120 V AC and the contactor produces a low mechanical hum; surface mounting allows normal convection cooling without forced airflow.
