Eaton FAZ-C16/2-NA Miniature Circuit Breaker

This Eaton FAZ-NA series breaker provides 16 A thermal-magnetic protection on a two-pole 277/480 VAC circuit. It is built for DIN rail mounting in panels feeding computers, UPS units, power supplies, relays and similar control equipment. The C-curve characteristic suits loads with moderate inrush current such as convenience receptacles, motor control circuits and PLC I/O points. Approvals include UL 489 and CSA C22.2 No. 235.

Installation checklist before ordering

Verify that your panel uses standard 35 mm DIN rail and that the 4.13 inch height, 2.97 inch width and 1.4 inch length fit the available space. Confirm the supply voltage does not exceed 277/480 VAC and that the load current stays within the 16 A rating. Ensure the wiring uses standard terminals compatible with the breaker lugs and that the application matches the listed uses such as HACR equipment or load circuits leaving the equipment.

Sustained-load behaviour

The thermal element trips on prolonged overloads while the magnetic element responds to short-circuit currents, maintaining protection during continuous operation. C-curve timing avoids nuisance trips from normal equipment inrush yet disconnects fault current quickly. UL 489 listing confirms the breaker meets endurance and temperature-rise requirements for extended service in industrial and commercial panels. No fan or active cooling is required.
