Thermal overload unit rated 11.40 to 12.20 A with Trip Class 20 protection for NEMA 0, 1, 2 starters
The Eaton FH42 is a thermal overload protection unit rated for 11.40 to 12.20 amperes. It suits maintenance teams and panel builders fitting Series A200 or B100 starters in NEMA Size 0, 1, or 2 enclosures.
The unit slides into compatible starter housings and aligns with Grainger part numbers 11Z488 through 11Z497. Mis-selection occurs when the motor full-load current falls outside the 10.4 to 11.3 A or 12 to 13.1 A ranges, so verify nameplate data before ordering.
Under sustained overload the thermal element follows a Class 20 curve, allowing motor acceleration and brief transients before opening the circuit. It does not react to instantaneous peaks, so short-circuit protection must be provided by separate fuses or breakers.

The unit trips at 11.40 to 12.20 A with Trip Class 20 timing, so normal load current between 10.4 and 11.3 A should hold without nuisance trips while overloads above 12 A cause a thermal trip.
The package contains the FH42 thermal unit only; you must supply a compatible Series A200 or B100 starter base and wiring for NEMA Size 0, 1 or 2 mounting.
Choose this 11.40-12.20 A unit when the motor nameplate shows 10.4 to 11.3 A full-load current; other FH42 ratings cover different current bands.
