Industrial motor starter

The Eaton XTCE009B01A is a non-reversing IEC magnetic contactor built for industrial electrical control panels. It switches three-phase loads up to 9 A using a 120 V AC coil and provides one normally closed auxiliary contact for status monitoring. The Frame B housing mounts on DIN rail or directly on a panel with screw terminals for power and control wiring.

Upgrading from smaller contactors

This unit replaces lower-rated contactors when a 9 A AC-3 rating at 400 V is required for motor-starting duty. The jump is justified when the application demands up to 1000 electrical operations at AC-3 400 V Ie or when the embedded surge suppressor adds needed transient protection. It is not suited for reversing circuits or for loads that exceed the published horsepower ratings for the given voltage and phase.

Limits of the IEC 60947 standard

The contactor is certified to IEC 60947 and EN 60947 with a CE mark, UL Listing and CSA certification. Electrical durability falls to approximately 300 operations at AC-4 400 V Ie and around 800 operations at AC-1 400 V Ie, so frequent inching or resistive switching reduces service life. The fixed 120 V AC coil voltage and single 1NC auxiliary contact cannot be changed in the field, limiting control-voltage flexibility and feedback options.
