Manual motor protector trip unit rated 32 A with a 600 V AC maximum, handling up to 30 hp at 600 V three-phase in a Frame B housing
The Eaton XTPEXT032B is a manual motor protector trip unit rated at 32 A with a three-pole design. It fits Frame B enclosures and is compatible with Series XT IEC systems. The unit suits industrial control panels that require adjustable overload and short-circuit protection for motors up to 30 hp at 600 V AC. Buyers needing higher current frames or different pole configurations should look elsewhere.
During normal operation the trip unit monitors current at 32 A across 208 V, 240 V, 480 V and 600 V AC supplies. Horsepower ratings reach 10 hp at 208 V three-phase, 7 1/2 hp at 240 V three-phase, 15 hp at 480 V three-phase and 30 hp at 600 V three-phase. Single-phase capacity is 5 hp at 240 V AC. The device carries CSA C 22.2 and UL 508 certifications.
A transparent cover allows visual confirmation of trip status without removing the unit. Overall dimensions are 3 in height, 2 in width and 2 in depth, fitting standard Frame B cut-outs. The three-pole layout matches common motor starter wiring patterns. Installers without Series XT IEC compatible hardware will not be able to mount this accessory.

Align the three-pole unit with the Frame B base, push until the latch clicks, then torque the line and load terminals to the value shown on the device label; the step most often missed is verifying that the 2.100 marking on the trip unit matches the protector's frame designation before energising.
The trip unit itself has no user-serviceable parts; plan to replace the entire unit if it trips repeatedly at or below its 32 A rating, or if the transparent housing shows heat discolouration after sustained operation at 600 V AC.
The thermal element calibrated for 32 A will open first under sustained overload, while the magnetic instantaneous trip responds only to short-circuit currents well above the 600 V AC rating.
