What It Is and Who It Serves

The Eco-Products EP-ST990 is a clear drinking straw made from plant-derived PLA. Each straw measures 9.5 inches long and comes individually wrapped in paper. A single carton contains 4,800 units. It suits cafes, restaurants, catering services and event organisers that need a hygienic, compostable option for cold beverages.

Hygiene, Composting and Daily Use

The paper wrapper keeps every straw clean until the moment it is used, supporting high hygiene standards in busy service environments. Because the material is fully compostable and biodegradable, used straws can be diverted to commercial composting streams instead of landfill. The sturdy construction prevents the straw from collapsing or becoming soggy during normal drinking time.

Build Quality and Practical Implications

Plant-based PLA gives the straw a rigid feel comparable to traditional plastic while remaining a renewable resource. The clear colour lets staff and guests see the contents of the drink at a glance. Bulk packaging in a 4,800-count carton reduces reorder frequency for high-volume operations. Buyers who need shorter lengths, flexible bends or unwrapped dispensing should look for a different product.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the Eco-Products EP-ST990 straws for service, and what handling step causes the most problems?

The straws arrive in a 4800-count carton with each 9.5-inch straw individually paper-wrapped; the step that causes issues is unwrapping them too early, which lets the paper absorb moisture and tear when guests try to remove it.

What replacement or upkeep will the EP-ST990 cartons need over time?

As a single-use compostable item, the product itself requires no maintenance; you simply reorder new 4800-straw cartons when stock runs low.

What limit appears first when the EP-ST990 straws are used continuously in a busy venue?

The practical limit is the 4800-unit carton quantity; during sustained high-volume service you will exhaust the supply and need to open another case before any performance issue with the straws themselves occurs.
