The Ecomhoper X99-8M is an M-ATX motherboard built for the LGA 2011-v3 socket. It accepts Intel Xeon E5 v3 and v4 series processors as well as compatible Core i7 CPUs. Dual-channel DDR4 memory is supported across the available slots. An M.2 PCIe slot provides a connection point for NVMe storage devices.

Upgrading from older Xeon platforms

This board replaces legacy server or workstation motherboards that use earlier socket types. The jump is worthwhile when a build requires the higher core counts and DDR4 memory support offered by the E5 v3 and v4 families. It does not support engineering sample or "es" edition Xeon CPUs. Builders needing integrated graphics or newer instruction sets should look elsewhere.

Practical limits of the LGA 2011-v3 interface

No newer CPU generations fit this socket.
