What this charger replaces

This 65W USB-C power adapter is built as a direct replacement for the Lenovo ADLX65YDC2A unit and matches the 20V / 3.25A output used by many ThinkPad, Yoga and Chromebook models. It ships new with a detachable AC cord so it is ready to use at a desk or in a bag.

Who it fits and who it does not

The tip and voltage suit laptops that draw up to 65W over USB-C, including the ThinkPad T480s, T490, X1 Carbon generations 5 through 9, X1 Yoga generations 2 through 6 and Chromebook C330, S330, 100e, 300e and 500e. Systems that require a higher wattage brick or a proprietary rectangular connector will not charge from this adapter.

The deciding specification

Output is fixed at 20 volts and 3.25 amps for 65 watts total; the charger also negotiates 45W for compatible devices. If your laptop’s original supply lists a different voltage or a higher maximum power, this unit will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the ECS LX-65W charger is delivering the correct 20V 3.25A output after plugging it in?

The laptop battery indicator should show charging and the OS power settings will report 65W input once the USB-C connector is seated.

What does the box contain and is a mains lead included or sold separately?

The package includes one laptop power adapter and one AC power cord so no separate mains cable is required.

Should I choose this 65W model or a lower 45W version for a ThinkPad T480s?

This 65W unit covers both 65W and 45W Lenovo USB-C laptops including the T480s, so the higher wattage is the safe single choice.
