Edifier G2 II USB 7.1 Headset

The Edifier G2 II is a wired USB gaming headset built around 50 mm dynamic drivers and a built-in sound card that delivers 7.1 virtual surround sound. It connects via USB 2.0 and includes a detachable, noise-cancelling microphone with an omnidirectional pickup pattern. The closed over-ear design weighs 490 grams and features leatherette ear pads with an adjustable padded headband.

Competitive gamers wanting accurate positional

The headset suits players who rely on directional cues such as footsteps and gunfire in a 360-degree soundscape. The supplied software adds a 7.1 virtual speaker shifter, equaliser, environment effects, microphone boost and voice morphing. Buyers needing wireless freedom, an analogue connection option or Xbox compatibility should look elsewhere.

50 mm drivers with 7.1 virtual surround over USB

The 50 mm neodymium units operate at 32 ohms impedance and 98 dB sensitivity across a 20 Hz to 20 kHz response range. A 2.5 metre cable ends in a USB 2.0 plug that carries both audio and microphone signals without an external power supply. Active noise cancellation is applied to the microphone channel for clearer voice capture.

Questions about this item

How often will the 50 mm neodymium drivers need replacement under normal use?

The 50 mm drivers are built for long-term gaming sessions and do not have a scheduled replacement interval; only physical damage or cable failure would require service.

What is the first limit reached during extended gaming sessions — heat, comfort or battery?

As a wired USB 2.0 headset drawing power from the host, it has no battery; the practical limit is ear-cup warmth after several hours, not driver overheating.

How much noise and heat does the headset produce when worn all day?

Passive operation means zero fan noise; the 490 g weight and leather earmuffs generate mild warmth around the ears after prolonged wear.
