Wireless HDMI extender

The EDIMAX Wireless HDMI Transmitter and Receiver streams 1080P video at 60Hz up to 164ft over 2.4G and 5GHz bands. It supports 4K decoding and plug-and-play connection within 10 seconds. No WiFi, app or Bluetooth pairing is required. The kit includes three adapters for USB-C, Micro HDMI and Mini HDMI.

Thermals noise and power

The transmitter and receiver units run without active cooling so they add no fan noise to a quiet room. Power is drawn from the source device over USB or the included supply, keeping cable count low. Dual-frequency operation maintains a stable link through walls without increasing heat output.

Build integration

The extender replaces long HDMI cables between a laptop, PC, projector or TV box and a display. It frees up HDMI ports on the source and reduces cable clutter in meeting rooms or home theatres. Buyers who need wired bandwidth beyond 1080P/60Hz or transmission past 164ft should consider a cabled solution.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the wireless HDMI transmitter and receiver, and what step do people often miss?

Connect the transmitter to your source device and the receiver to the display via HDMI, power both units, then ensure the 2.4G or 5GHz band is selected on both ends for a stable link.

What maintenance or replacement will the wireless HDMI extender need over time?

The plug-and-play units have no user-serviceable parts; only the external power adapters or cables may need replacement if they fail.

What limit appears first when streaming 1080P 60Hz video continuously at range?

The 164ft (50m) transmission distance is the primary limit; beyond that the dual-frequency signal degrades and video quality drops.
