Undersink Electric Tankless Heater

The Eemax SPEX65T is a compact electric tankless water heater designed for undersink installation in commercial and residential settings. It operates on a single-phase 240V AC supply and activates at a minimum flow of 0.2 gpm. The unit delivers hot water on demand without a storage tank.

Sustained Load Behaviour

At a maximum flow rate of 3 gpm the heater draws 27 A and consumes 6500 W continuously. It maintains outlet temperatures between 70 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit as long as flow persists. The small 10.75 by 5.25 by 3 inch enclosure limits thermal mass, so temperature stability depends on steady inlet conditions.

Replacement Context

This model replaces a traditional undersink storage tank where space is limited and intermittent hot water draws are common. The jump is worthwhile when the existing tank cannot recover quickly enough between uses or when eliminating standby losses is a priority. It is not suited for whole-house demand or fixtures requiring flow above 3 gpm.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power does the 6500 W unit draw when it runs all day?

The heater consumes 6500 W at 240 V and pulls 27 A while operating.

What electrical supply must already be in place for this 240 V single-phase heater?

A dedicated 240 V AC single-phase circuit rated for at least 27 A is required.

Will the 3/8 in cold inlet connect to the 1/2 in copper lines I already have?

The cold inlet is 3/8 in; an adapter is needed to join it to 1/2 in piping.
