What this adapter does

The eForChina power adapter connects a 5.5x2.1mm female barrel jack to a big square first-generation USB male plug. It is built for ThinkPad, ThinkBook and Xiaoxin devices that use that specific proprietary power input. The unit is brand new, small and lightweight for portable use.

Who this suits and who it does not

This adapter suits owners of compatible Lenovo laptops who need to power them from a standard 5.5x2.1mm barrel source. It will not work for buyers who need a different barrel diameter, a different proprietary tip, or a USB-C power delivery connection.

The deciding specification

The interface combination is a 5.5x2.1mm female barrel to a big square first-generation USB male plug. If the laptop requires that exact proprietary square connector, this adapter fits; if the device uses any other power input, it will not connect.

Questions about this item

What barrel-plug size must my power brick have to fit the 5.5x2.1mm female socket?

The adapter accepts a standard 5.5 mm outer diameter, 2.1 mm inner diameter barrel plug, so any brick with that exact tip will seat securely.

Will the big square first-generation male end mate with the rectangular port on my older ThinkPad charger?

Yes, the square male connector matches the legacy ThinkPad / ThinkBook / Xiaoxin rectangular power input used on earlier models.

How can I confirm the adapter is passing power once I plug everything in?

The laptop’s charging LED should illuminate and the battery icon will show a charging state, confirming the connection is live.
