Purpose and Compatibility

This cable converts a 7.9mm x 5.5mm power input to a larger square USB connector for compatible laptops. It suits owners of ThinkPad, ThinkBook or Xiaoxin models that require this specific tip change. Buyers needing a different barrel size or a standard USB-C power connection cannot use this adapter.

Practical Limits

The adapter relies on the host port to supply the correct voltage and current for the laptop. It carries no active circuitry to regulate or convert power levels. The 22cm length restricts placement between the power brick and the device. Users requiring a longer reach or a different output tip must seek another solution.

Build and Daily Use

The moulded connectors and short cable are designed for direct inline use without strain relief bulk. A 7.9mm x 5.5mm female socket accepts the existing charger tip securely. The big square USB plug mates with the laptop power port for a firm connection. The compact form factor travels easily in a laptop sleeve.

Questions about this item

Which connector version do I need for my laptop?

This cable has a 7.9mm x 5.5mm female connector on one end and a big square USB plug on the other, so choose it when your power brick uses that rectangular tip.

What does the 22cm length mean once it is plugged in?

At 22cm the adapter adds only a short tail between your charger and the laptop, keeping the setup tidy on a desk or in a bag.

What interface standard does the big square USB end follow and what does it limit?

The square end is a standard USB Type-A plug, so power delivery is capped by whatever USB-A port or charger you connect it to.
