Cutting surface & self-healing layers

The Elan INCH-A4 mat is a single-sheet cutting surface measuring 30 cm by 22 cm by 0.3 cm. Five plies of PVC combine to give a self-healing top that closes cuts and keeps the work area flat. Both faces carry a printed imperial grid for accurate measuring. It suits quilting, sewing and general craft projects.

Quilters, sewists and paper crafters

Crafters who need a durable, reversible board with a precise inch grid will find this mat fits the task. The pink and purple sides give instant contrast for light or dark fabrics. Buyers who require a larger cutting area or a metric-only grid should look at other sizes.

5-ply PVC construction

The board uses five layers of polyvinyl chloride, with recycled material in the lower plies and a robust middle layer. This structure enables the self-healing action and keeps the surface from warping when stored flat. The 12-by-9-inch grid is printed on both sides for long-lasting readability.

Questions about this item

How often will the 5-ply PVC surface need replacing if I cut on it daily?

The self-healing layers close cuts automatically, so the mat lasts through heavy daily use without a set replacement schedule.

What wears out first when the 30 cm by 22 cm board sees constant rotary-cutter pressure?

The top pink and purple PVC plies absorb the blade impact; they self-heal, so surface degradation appears before the recycled core weakens.

Does the .3 cm thick mat warp or smell after hours of continuous cutting?

The rigid recycled-PVC core resists warping, and the PVC construction produces no noticeable odour during all-day sessions.
