Award-Winning Canopy Tent

The Elegear Portable Beach Tent SP-TT-0003-BU-EL is a pop-up shelter designed for beach and outdoor use. It accommodates four to five people within a floor area of 86.61 in by 59.06 in and a peak height of 61.02 in. The frame uses thickened 8.5 mm fiberglass poles and the canopy earned a UPF 50+ rating for ultraviolet protection. It weighs 5.95 pounds and carries a 2026 NY Product Design Awards Silver Winner distinction.

Suits Families, Not Solo Hikers

This shelter suits families or small groups who want quick shade with a built-in canopy that doubles usable space when opened. The external snap-on system reduces assembly time compared to traditional pole sleeves. Buyers who need a compact pack size for backpacking or a freestanding structure without guy lines should look at alternative designs. The zippered rear door allows full enclosure for privacy or wind protection.

Silver Coating Holds Under Sun

The 190T double-layer silver-coated polyester with PU2000 waterproof rating reflects heat and resists light rain during extended daytime use. Fiberglass poles maintain tension without the metal fatigue that can snap alloy frames in high wind. Ventilation improves when the canopy is deployed, reducing internal temperature buildup over several hours. The fabric coating shows no degradation after prolonged UV exposure in testing.

Questions about this item

Do I need to bring my own sandbags or stakes to keep the 8.5 mm fiberglass frame stable in wind?

The pop-up frame is self-supporting on flat sand; integrated sand pockets and guy-line loops are built in so no separate anchors are required.

Will the 190T double-layer silver-coated polyester still give UPF 50+ protection if I leave the front canopy fully open?

Yes — the fabric itself carries the UPF 50+ rating, so the sheltered area remains protected even with the canopy extended or the rear door zipped open.

How can I confirm the external snap-on poles are seated correctly after setup?

Each pole end clicks audibly into its plastic socket and the canopy fabric pulls tight without sagging when all four corners are engaged.
