What the product is

This Elestur USB-C cable two-pack provides two 10 ft braided leads with USB-A to USB-C connectors. Each cable supports 5V/3A charging and USB 2.0 data transfer at 480 Mbps, making it suitable for everyday phone, tablet and laptop charging.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

The 10 ft length and anti-slip connector tread suit users who charge from a distance on sofas, beds or car back seats. Buyers who need faster data rates, video output or power delivery above 5V/3A should look at cables specified for those functions.

The deciding specification

The cable is rated for USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps and 5V/3A charging, with a 10,000-plus bend lifespan and aluminium housings. If your workflow requires higher bandwidth or voltage, this is not the right part.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 10 ft length or a shorter cable for my setup?

The 10 ft length lets you charge from a wall outlet while using the device on a sofa, in bed or in a car back seat; choose a shorter cable only if you need less slack.

What does the 5V/3A rating deliver in everyday charging?

It supplies up to 15 watts, which the supplier says charges compatible phones and tablets about 45 percent faster than a basic 5V/1A cable.

The cable is labelled USB 2.0 — what speed does that cap data transfer at?

USB 2.0 limits the link to 480 Mbps, so file syncs between a phone and a laptop will top out at that rate.
