Full HD webcam with DSLR-style control

The Elgato Facecam MK.2 is a 1080p60 webcam built around a Sony Starvis CMOS sensor and a fixed-focus Elgato Prime Lens. It targets streamers and professionals who need reliable, uncompressed video for platforms such as Zoom or Teams. A 1/4-inch thread allows flexible mounting on stands or boom arms.

Sustained low-latency streaming performance

The camera maintains ultra low-latency output across extended sessions at 1080p60 or 720p120 without dropping frames. HDR and cinematic effects are processed on-device, preserving consistent colour accuracy and exposure during long broadcasts. The fixed f/2.4 aperture and 24 mm focal length keep depth of field stable over time.

Upgrade from basic integrated cameras

This replaces built-in laptop cameras or entry-level USB webcams that lack manual exposure, white-balance control or HDR support. The jump is worthwhile when consistent low-light quality and app-based DSLR controls matter for daily calls or streams. Buyers who need 4K resolution or autofocus tracking should consider other options.

Questions about this item

How much heat or fan noise does the Facecam MK.2 produce during long streaming sessions?

The Facecam MK.2 draws power directly from the USB Type C port with no internal fan, so it runs silently and generates only minimal warmth even after hours of continuous 1080p60 capture.

What mount or cable must I already have to attach and power the Facecam MK.2?

You need a free USB Type C port on your PC or Mac for power and data, and either a monitor clamp or a tripod with a standard 1/4-inch thread to secure the camera via its built-in mounting point.

Will the Facecam MK.2’s fixed 24 mm f/2.4 lens work well on a desk where my older webcam sat only 30 cm away?

Yes — the focus range starts at 30 cm, so the Prime Lens stays sharp at typical desktop distances, and the 84° field of view fits a single person comfortably without the wide-angle distortion common on older clip-on cameras.
