Precision grid for Rotalux strip softboxes
The Elinchrom Rotalux RotaGrid replaces the standard external diffuser on the 35.5" x 43" Rotalux strip softbox (EL 26176). It narrows the beam angle to reduce spill and adds directionality, giving photographers and videographers tighter control over where light falls.
External diffuser and grid in one accessory
By combining the diffuser and egg-crate grid into a single panel, the RotaGrid removes the need to fit two separate layers. This speeds up changes on set and keeps the light quality consistent because the diffusion material is matched to the grid geometry.
Slip-on mounting with hook-and-loop edges
The grid attaches to the softbox front frame using integrated hook-and-loop strips, so it can be fitted or removed in seconds without tools. The main limitation is that it only fits the 35.5" x 43" Rotalux strip; it will not mount on square, rectangular or octagonal Rotalux models.

Questions about this item
Will the fabric grid need replacing after repeated mounting on the 35.5" x 43" Rotalux?
The grid is built from high-quality materials rated for frequent studio use, so the fabric and stitching hold up through many attachment cycles without fraying.
What limits how long I can keep the RotaGrid on the EL 26176 softbox during a full-day shoot?
The grid adds negligible weight and does not trap heat, so the practical limit is the strobe’s own duty cycle rather than the accessory itself.
Does the RotaGrid change the heat output or fan noise of the light when it stays on all day?
It simply narrows the beam; the grid material does not restrict airflow or add thermal load, so the strobe runs at its normal temperature and noise level.
