Portable DVD Boombox with 7" Screen

The Emerson EDL-2870-BK combines a 7 inch LCD display, DVD player and digital ATSC TV tuner in a pink cabinet. It plays CDs, MP3 discs and radio broadcasts while also accepting USB drives and SD cards. Bluetooth streaming lets you send audio from a phone or tablet. Twin full-range speakers deliver 5W RMS output for personal listening.

AC Mains, Car Power or Battery Operation

The unit runs from the included 120V AC adapter, a 12V DC car cord or eight C cells for true portability. Mains and car operation keep the speakers at full volume without draining batteries. Battery power enables outdoor use where no outlet exists. No fan is present so playback stays silent apart from the disc mechanism.

Connections for Private or Shared Listening

A 3.5mm headphone jack lets one person listen without disturbing others. The 3.5mm AUX input accepts external sources such as a portable player. Composite A/V output can feed a larger television screen. A microphone input supports karaoke or voice recording. The supplied remote control handles playback from across the room.

Questions about this item

How do I power the Emerson EDL-2870-BK for the first time, and which step do people often miss?

Connect the AC 120V adapter or DC 12V car cord, or insert eight C batteries; the step people miss is ensuring the batteries are oriented correctly and the battery compartment cover is fully latched.

What maintenance or replacement will the Emerson EDL-2870-BK need over time?

The eight C batteries will need replacement when playback time drops; clean the DVD lens occasionally with a disc cleaner and wipe the 7 inch LCD screen with a soft dry cloth.

What limit appears first during extended use of the Emerson EDL-2870-BK?

Battery life depletes first during sustained portable use; the 5W RMS twin speakers may also reach thermal limits at maximum volume for long periods.
