Ready-to-Use FRS Radio Pair

The EMERSON F22 ships as a 2-pack of licence-free FRS handhelds. Each unit arrives new with a 1400mAh cell already fitted, so the radios work straight from the box for family camping, hiking or cruise-ship coordination. No programming cable or licence study is required.

Simple Battery Prep and Type-C Charging

A thin insulating sheet sits under the battery from the factory; peel it off and the radio powers on immediately. Charging uses the built-in Type-C port, compatible with any USB power bank, vehicle port or laptop. The keypad lock prevents accidental channel changes while the set rides in a pack.

22 FRS Channels and 12 NOAA Alerts

The pair covers all 22 FRS frequencies with 50 CTCSS and 105 DCS privacy codes for interference-free group talk. Twelve NOAA weather channels scan automatically and sound an alarm when severe weather approaches. Range is line-of-sight typical for FRS power limits; dense forest or multi-deck steel structures will reduce usable distance.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the EMERSON F22 is working correctly after I set it up?

Turn on both radios, select the same channel from the 22 FRS channels and match one of the 155 privacy codes, then press the push-to-talk button to confirm clear two-way audio; the backlit LCD will show the active channel and battery level.

What comes in the box with the 2-pack and what must I purchase separately?

The package includes two F22 radios, two 1400 mAh rechargeable batteries, a dual Type-C USB charging cable and a user manual; no Kenwood-compatible 2-pin headsets are included, so buy those separately if you want hands-free VOX operation.

Which version or capacity should I choose for my needs?

This model is offered only as a 2-pack with 1400 mAh batteries and 22 FRS channels plus 12 NOAA weather channels; there are no alternative capacities or channel configurations for the F22.
