Compact two-pack for group outings

The EMERSON WalkieTalkie-T8-C-2 supplies two colourful FRS radios that weigh .308 kilograms each. They operate on the 462-467 MHz band with 22 channels and 99 privacy codes, creating up to 2178 combinations for one-to-one or one-to-more talks. The set suits families, hikers or event crews who need simple push-to-talk coordination without mobile coverage.

Waterproof build with USB-C charging

A 1200mAh Li-ion cell delivers 72 to 96 hours of typical use or up to 12 hours of continuous talk, and recharges in about 1 hour via the supplied USB-C cable. The waterproof housing withstands rain and splashes while the VOX function enables hands-free operation when the radios are clipped to a belt or pack strap.

22 FRS channels and 99 CTCSS tones

The 99 privacy codes filter unwanted chatter so multiple groups can share the same channel without hearing each other. In open terrain the pair can reach up to 5 miles, while in towns or woods the realistic range falls to .6 to 1.2 miles; switching channels avoids local interference. No earpieces, charging dock or programming software are included.

Questions about this item

How do I charge the 1200 mAh Li-ion battery with the USB-C cable and what step is often missed?

Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the radio's port and a power source; the step users miss is allowing the full 1 hour charge time from empty before first use

What maintenance will the rechargeable battery need after extended use?

The 1200 mAh Li-ion pack will eventually hold less charge; expect to replace it when runtime drops well below the 72 to 96 hour standby figure

What range limit appears first during continuous transmission in built-up areas?

In cities or towns the practical distance falls to .6 to 1.2 miles, so terrain obstruction becomes the limiting factor before battery life does
