SKU CH-MZ0E-FQ5XE

Dual-channel 8 Gb Fibre Channel host bus adapter with PCIe 3.3 interface and standard bracket included

  • Dual-channel 8Gb Fibre Channel throughput
  • PCIe 3.3 interface for modern server I/O
  • Low-profile form factor fits dense chassis
  • Standard bracket included for full-height slots

Dual-channel 8 Gb Fibre Channel HBA

The Emulex Lightpulse LPe12002-M8 adds two 8 Gb Fibre Channel ports through a single PCIe 3.3 slot. Its low-profile design fits space-constrained servers while the included standard bracket supports full-height chassis. The card targets IT teams expanding SAN connectivity for databases, virtualisation clusters or backup infrastructure.

Upgrade from single-port or 4 Gb adapters

Replacing a single-channel HBA doubles available bandwidth and provides path redundancy for critical workloads. Moving from 4 Gb hardware cuts latency and raises throughput for storage-heavy applications. The jump is worthwhile when current ports are saturated or when multipathing is required for high-availability service-level agreements.

Questions about this item

What slot width and height does the low-profile card with standard bracket require?

The adapter is a low-profile PCIe 3.3 card measuring 6.6 inches long and 1 inch wide, supplied with a standard bracket for full-height slots.

Which step is often missed when installing the dual-channel HBA into a server?

After seating the card in a PCIe 3.3 slot, both fibre-channel ports must be cabled before the server boots so the firmware detects both channels.
