Connects a PS/2 keyboard and mouse to a single USB port with a one-foot beige cable, drawing bus power and requiring no drivers
The EN-Labs ADUSB2PS2 connects two PS/2 peripherals — a keyboard and a mouse — to a single USB port on a PC or Sun system. It also converts the PS/2 console port of a compatible KVM switch to USB. No drivers or external power supply are required.
The adapter draws all the power it needs from the USB bus, so no separate power brick is needed. Its one-foot beige cable keeps the connection short and tidy. Because it is a passive converter, it adds no audible noise or measurable heat during normal use.
This unit provides exactly one USB-A plug and two PS/2 sockets on a fixed one-foot cable. Buyers who need a longer reach, a different colour, or the ability to connect more than two PS/2 devices will need a different solution.

Plug the USB end into the host computer or KVM switch, then insert the purple PS/2 plug into the keyboard port and the green PS/2 plug into the mouse port; the colour coding prevents the common mistake of reversing them.
No firmware or drivers are required and the unit has no user-serviceable parts; only the PS/2 cables or the connected peripherals may eventually need replacement.
The short 1-foot tether restricts placement immediately, forcing the PS/2 devices to sit very close to the USB port, which is the first practical constraint encountered.
