Adds a USB 3.2 Type-E A-Key header and a USB 3.0 20-pin header through a PCIe x1 slot for front-panel connectivity at up to 5 Gbps
This PCIe add-on card converts a single x1 slot into two internal USB headers for front-panel or rear-panel connectivity. It provides one USB 3.2 Type-E A-Key header and one USB 3.0 20-pin header, supporting up to three additional ports. The card fits x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots and works with Windows from XP to 11 plus Linux.
The board draws power directly from the PCIe slot and uses a VIA VL805 controller to manage data flow. No external power connector is required and the low-profile circuitry adds negligible heat inside the chassis. Passive cooling is sufficient for continuous operation at the rated 5 Gbps throughput.
A full-profile metal bracket secures the card to the case rear with a single screw. Both 20-pin headers use standard keyed connectors that match common front-panel cables, reducing the chance of misalignment during installation. The design suits builders adding USB-C and Type-A ports to cases with spare PCIe slots, but not those needing external ports or additional internal headers beyond the two provided.

Insert the card into any PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot, secure the full-profile bracket, then plug the motherboard's USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-E A-Key cable into the card's 20-pin header; the step often missed is seating the header fully so the key aligns.
No scheduled maintenance is required; if the card fails, the entire unit is replaced as no user-serviceable parts are present.
The PCIe 1x lane and the VL 805 chipset both cap throughput at 5Gbps, so sustained transfers hit that bandwidth ceiling before any thermal throttle occurs.
