Adds one USB-C and two USB-A 3.0 ports via a PCIe 1x slot with SATA power for high-draw devices
This EN-Labs add-on card fits a PCI Express 1x slot and provides three USB 3.0 ports: one USB Type-C and two Type-A connectors. The VIA VL805 chipset handles SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 data rates up to 5Gbps and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. A SATA 15-pin power connector supplies extra current for high-power peripherals, and a full-profile bracket secures the card in a desktop case.
The card suits anyone upgrading an older tower that lacks modern USB-C connectivity or needs more Type-A ports for keyboards, mice and external drives. It works in x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots and supports Windows XP through Windows 8 plus Linux without extra drivers. Builders who need internal USB headers, more than three external ports or power delivery beyond what the SATA connector provides should look at other solutions.
Installation consumes one PCI Express 1x lane and requires a spare SATA 15-pin power lead from the power supply. If the system has no free PCIe slot or no available SATA power connector, the card cannot be used.
