Aluminium M.2 2280 heatsink
The Enermax ESC001-BK is an aluminium heatsink built for M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs. It fits single-sided and double-sided modules and includes thermal pads in 0.5 mm and 1.00 mm thicknesses. The grooved surface enlarges the dissipation area to lower drive temperatures by 10 °C to 20 °C depending on environment. The kit contains the heatsink, a base plate and four pads for DIY installation in a desktop or PlayStation 5.
Compatibility guide
Suits owners of M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs such as Samsung 860 EVO, 960 EVO, 970 EVO, 970 Pro or 980 Pro who need better thermal control. Builders with drives thicker than 2.4 mm or modules in other form factors cannot use this bracket. Users who prefer a motherboard-integrated shield or have no free M.2 slot should look at other cooling options.
Critical spec check
The drive must be an M.2 2280 NVMe SSD no thicker than 2.4 mm so the supplied 0.5 mm and 1.00 mm pads make proper contact. If your module exceeds that height or uses a different length, the heatsink will not fit.

Questions about this item
Will the ENERMAX ESC001-BK heatsink fit my M.2 2280 NVMe SSD in a desktop or PS5?
The heatsink is designed for M.2 2280 modules and supports both single-sided and double-sided SSDs. It includes a base and aluminium heatsink that fit standard desktop motherboards and the PS5 expansion slot.
Which thermal pad thickness should I use when installing the ESC001-BK on a double-sided SSD like a 970 EVO Plus?
For double-sided drives measuring 2.4 mm thick, place one 0.5 mm pad on the controller side and one 1.00 mm pad on the flash side. The kit supplies two of each thickness for this configuration.
Do the thermal pads need to be replaced after a period of use?
The included silicone pads are rated for long-term operation. If the SSD temperature rises noticeably above the typical 10 °C to 20 °C reduction, replace both pads with new ones of the same 0.5 mm and 1.00 mm thicknesses.
