Emergency Radio with NOAA Alert

The Eoxsmile HO-CR1009 is a portable weather radio built for home and outdoor emergency preparedness. It receives NOAA weather alerts and sounds a loud SOS alarm with a flashing red light when severe warnings are issued. The device covers AM, FM, and shortwave bands for news and entertainment. A 5000mAh rechargeable battery powers the unit and can charge external devices via USB.

Reception Limits Across Three Bands

The tuner covers AM from 520 to 1710 Khz, FM from 88 to 108 MHz, and shortwave from 7 to 19.00 MHz. A telescopic antenna improves reception for distant or overseas stations such as BBC or Moscow broadcasts. The 3.5 mm earphone jack allows private listening without disturbing others. Alert volume is fixed at a loud level for the 9-second SOS tone and cannot be adjusted lower.

Five Power Sources and Common Setup Issues

The radio accepts power from a solar panel, hand crank, USB-C input, the internal 5000mAh battery, or three AAA batteries as backup. A full charge on the internal battery provides up to 13 hours of FM playback. Users must supply their own 5V/2A wall adapter for the fastest USB-C charging. The hand crank requires sustained effort to generate meaningful runtime, and AAA cells are not included.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 5000 mAh built-in battery or rely on AAA cells?

What does the 5 W output power deliver in everyday use?

The 5 W speaker produces a loud SOS alarm and clear FM audio at room-filling volume; the 3.5 mm earphone jack lets you listen privately without disturbing others.

What tuner bands are available and what frequency ranges do they cover?

AM covers 520-1710 kHz, FM covers 88-108 MHz and shortwave covers 7-19.00 MHz, plus seven NOAA weather channels for local alerts.
