Full Brim Hard Hat for Industrial Use
The Erb Safety Americana is a Type 1 Class E hard hat built from polyethylene with a full brim and a four point ratchet suspension. It meets ANSI Z 89.1 standards for impact and electrical protection. The hat fits head sizes from six and a half to eight.
Replaces Worn or Non Compliant Headgear
This hat replaces any hard hat that has exceeded its service life or fails current ANSI requirements. The jump is worth it when a job site demands Type 1 top impact rating and Class E electrical insulation up to twenty thousand volts. It is not for workers who need a vented shell or a cap style brim.
Simple Ratchet Adjustment
The four point ratchet suspension tightens or loosens with a turn of the knob for a secure fit without removing the hat. Common issues include over tightening the ratchet which causes pressure points and failing to inspect the shell for UV damage before each use. The polyethylene shell resists cracking but should be replaced after heavy impact.

Questions about this item
What hat-size range does the 4-point ratchet suspension adjust to fit?
The ratchet suspension adjusts from 6-1/2 to 8 for a secure fit on most adult heads.
How do you set the ratchet correctly so the shell stays level?
Place the hat on your head, turn the rear knob clockwise until the shell feels snug but not tight, then check that the brim sits level front-to-back.
When should the polyethylene shell be replaced even if it looks intact?
Replace the shell after any impact or after five years of regular outdoor use, because UV exposure gradually weakens the polyethylene material.
