eshinreal

eshinreal PCIe x1 8 Port SATA 6Gb/s SAS Expansion Card

SKU CH-1XJ2-XGRJC

Adds eight SATA 6Gbps ports through a single PCIe x1 slot for high-density storage expansion

  • Product typeController Card
  • Adds eight drives through one PCIe x1 slot
  • SATA III 6Gbps and SAS 2.0 drive support
  • Port multiplier enables eight drives on one host connection
  • Low-profile bracket fits small-form-factor cases
  • PCIe 2.0 x1 ~500MB/s or 3.0 x1 ~985MB/s shared bandwidth

Storage expansion via PCIe x1

The eshinreal controller card adds eight SATA 6Gbps ports through a single PCIe x1 slot. It fits any x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot running PCIe 2.0 or newer. A low-profile bracket is included for small-form-factor cases.

Suits builders adding many drives on one slot

This card serves NAS or backup arrays where drives are accessed in a staggered pattern. It is not suited for workloads that demand full simultaneous throughput on all eight ports. Builders who need hardware RAID should look elsewhere.

Shared bandwidth depends on PCIe generation

On PCIe 2.0 the eight ports share roughly 500MB/s. On PCIe 3.0 the shared pool rises to about 985MB/s. That single number decides whether the card can feed your drive count at the speed you need.

Questions about this item

Does the PCIe x1 2.0 slot cap the eight SATA 6Gbps ports at 500 MB/s total?

Yes, a PCIe 2.0 x1 link shares roughly 500 MB/s across all eight ports, so simultaneous heavy traffic on multiple drives will hit that ceiling.

Will the included half-height bracket let the card fit in a slim small-form-factor case?

The low-profile bracket is supplied, so the card mounts in half-height chassis without needing a separate bracket.

Do I need to flash the card to IT mode before the OS sees all eight drives?

The card operates as a plain HBA; no RAID firmware or IT-mode flash is required — drives appear individually once the OS loads the standard SATA/SAS driver.
