Safety Firefighting Goggles — Design and Purpose

The ESS 740-0273 goggles are built for firefighting with a wraparound TPR frame and clear lens. An elastic wrap‑around strap with Velcro helmet tabs secures the fit on a helmet. A foam brow lining adds comfort during extended wear. The lens carries an anti‑fog coating to maintain visibility in heat and smoke.

Who These Suit — and Who Should Look Elsewhere

These goggles suit firefighters and responders who need helmet‑compatible eye protection with anti‑fog performance. Buyers who require ANSI‑rated dust or splash protection should look elsewhere, as this model is not rated for either hazard. Users needing dielectric protection will also need a different product.

Deciding Specification — ANSI Dust/Splash Rating

The single specification that decides fit for purpose is the ANSI dust/splash rating: this model is not rated for dust or splash. If your environment demands certified particle or liquid splash protection, this goggle does not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

Does the goggle include a lens or do I need to buy one separately?

The goggle comes with a clear lens and a wrap-around elastic strap that has Velcro helmet tabs already attached.

Is this model available in other frame colours or lens tints?

The frame is black and the supplied lens is clear with an anti-fog coating; no other colour or tint options are listed for this model.

What protection does the indirect venting give me on a fire scene?

Indirect vents block direct splashes and large particles while allowing airflow to reduce fogging, and the anti-fog coating further helps maintain clear vision in heat and smoke.
