Bidirectional HDMI 2.1 Switch

The ESTONE 8K HDMI 2.1 Bidirectional Switch connects two source devices to one display or one source to two displays. It handles 2-in-1-out and 1-in-2-out configurations with a single button press. Only one output is active at a time. The aluminium body is compact for portable use.

48 Gbps bandwidth ceiling

The switch passes signals up to 48 Gbps, which is the HDMI 2.1 maximum. This bandwidth decides whether 8K@60 Hz, 4K@120 Hz or 1080P@240 Hz can be transmitted without compression. All connected cables and devices must also support the target resolution and refresh rate.

8K@60 Hz and 4K@120 Hz headroom

At 48 Gbps the unit comfortably carries 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1080P at 240 Hz with full 4:4:4 colour. It also passes VRR, HDR 10, Dolby audio and ARC when the display supports ARC. Bandwidth runs out above 8K@60 Hz, so higher resolutions or refresh rates are not possible.

Questions about this item

What does the 48 Gbps bandwidth mean for my 8K display?

It delivers the full 8K 60 Hz signal without compression, provided your cable, source and display all support HDMI 2.1.

Which HDMI version caps the switch at 48 Gbps?

The switch implements HDMI 2.1, so 48 Gbps is the hard ceiling; older cables or devices will fall back to lower speeds.

How many HDMI ports are on the unit for hooking up my gear?

Two HDMI ports — use them as 2 in / 1 out or 1 in / 2 out depending on which button mode you select.
