DisplayPort 2.1 cable for 8K gaming

The ESTONE LJ-DP16K is a male-to-male DisplayPort 2.1 cable built for high-resolution gaming and media playback. It connects a graphics card to a monitor at 6.6 ft length with HBR10-rated bandwidth up to 40 Gbit/s. Solid copper conductors and triple shielding protect signal integrity. The cable targets users who need 8K@60 Hz or high-refresh 4K and 2K performance without compression artefacts.

No-latch groove connectors

The plug uses a latch-free groove design that eases removal in tight rear-I/O spaces and reduces accidental port damage. Triple shielding and tinned copper conductors suppress electromagnetic interference during long sessions. The cable is backwards compatible with DisplayPort 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.1 and 1.0 devices, so it works with older monitors and GPUs while retaining full 2.1 feature support on new hardware.

DSC 1.2a required for top resolutions

The 40 Gbit/s link relies on Display Stream Compression 1.2a to deliver 8K@60 Hz, 4K@144 Hz and 2K@240 Hz; hosts and displays must implement DSC to reach those modes. Without DSC the link falls back to lower refresh rates or resolutions within the raw HBR10 bandwidth. Audio passes through up to 32 channels including 7.1 and 5.1 formats. Buyers whose hardware lacks DSC 1.2a support cannot achieve the advertised peak formats.

Questions about this item

What bandwidth does the DisplayPort 2.1 HBR10 rating cap this cable at in practice?

The cable is rated for up to 40 Gbit/s bandwidth under the HBR10 specification, enabling 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, and 2K at 240 Hz with DSC.

What physical clearance and connector style does the 6.6 ft cable need to fit a graphics card and monitor?

It uses male-to-male DisplayPort 2.1 connectors with a no-buckle latch and grooved shell, so it plugs straight into standard DP ports without extra space for a release button.

How is the cable installed, and which step do people often get wrong?

Align the notched connector, push firmly until the internal latch clicks, then pull the grooved body — not the cable — to release; forcing the latch or yanking the cord damages the port.
