Mini DisplayPort 1.4 to DisplayPort 1.4 cable

This 10 ft cable connects laptops or desktops with a Mini DisplayPort 1.4 output to monitors, TVs or projectors with a full-size DisplayPort 1.4 input. It carries up to 32.4 Gbps bandwidth and supports resolutions including 7680x4320 at 60 Hz, 3840x2160 at 144 Hz and 2560x1440 at 240 Hz. Gold-plated connectors and a cotton-braided jacket add durability for daily use.

Replaces older Mini DP to DP cables limited

Upgrading is worthwhile when your display requires 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz or 2K at 240 Hz with HDR10, Dolby Vision or 10-bit colour. The cable is backward compatible with DisplayPort 1.3, 1.2, 1.1 and 1.0, so it works with legacy screens, but it cannot add high-refresh capability to a source or sink that does not support those modes. Buyers who need longer runs or fibre-optic transmission will not be served by this copper design.

Simple plug-and-play installation

Connect the male Mini DisplayPort end to the source and the male DisplayPort end to the display; no drivers or external power are required. The bi-directional design also allows a full-size DisplayPort source to drive a Mini DisplayPort monitor. Ensure both ports are fully seated — loose connections are the most common cause of signal dropouts or limited refresh rates. Avoid sharp bends near the connectors to protect the internal copper conductors.

Questions about this item

What size Mini DisplayPort and full-size DisplayPort connectors does the ESTONE TJ-TDP10 cable use?

The cable has a male Mini DisplayPort 1.4 connector on one end and a male full-size DisplayPort 1.4 connector on the other, both gold-plated for durability and corrosion resistance.

How do I connect the cable for bi-directional use between a MacBook and a monitor, and what common mistake should I avoid?

Plug the Mini DP end into the MacBook's Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 2 port and the DP end into the monitor; the cable works both ways automatically, but do not force the connector — align the wide flat side correctly before inserting.

Will the gold-plated connectors or the braided jacket need any special cleaning or replacement over time?

The gold-plated connectors resist oxidation and the cotton-braided PVC jacket is waterproof; no scheduled maintenance or connector replacement is required under normal use.
