It is built for homes or small offices where running extra cables is impractical and a switch is not desired. The unit requires the supplied USB power cable to operate and will not work without it.

Sustained throughput behaviour

Each of the four ports can reach a maximum chipset speed of 1000Mbps, though actual throughput depends on the connected devices and the single upstream link. Because all four ports share the same physical cable, heavy simultaneous transfers will divide the available bandwidth rather than multiply it. The splitter is intended for typical internet and local-network traffic, not for aggregating multiple full-speed gigabit streams.

Installation notes

Connect the incoming Ethernet cable to the input port, plug the four devices into the output ports, and attach the 80cm USB power cable to a stable USB power source. The package includes the splitter and the USB cord only; no configuration software is required. Ensure the USB supply remains connected, as the device has no internal power and will drop all links if the cable is unplugged.
