2x2 HDMI Matrix for 4K 60Hz Setups
The ESTONE OZJ6 routes two HDMI sources to two displays independently. It handles 4K at 60Hz with HDR10 and deep-colour formats up to 48-bit. Audio can be extracted from either output through optical SPDIF or 3.5mm stereo ports. An IR remote switches inputs without touching the box.
Upgrading from a Simple Splitter or Selector
A basic splitter mirrors one source to both screens; a selector only picks one source for one screen. This matrix lets each display show a different 4K source at the same time. The jump is worth it when you need simultaneous, independent routing — for example a media player on one TV and a game console on another. It does not add more than two inputs or two outputs.
Limits of the HDMI 2.0b Interface
Bandwidth tops out at 18.5Gbps with a TMDS clock of 600MHz, so 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 is the ceiling. HDCP 2.2 protects premium content but older 1.4 sinks may block it. The downscaler converts 4K to 1080p for legacy displays, yet it cannot up-convert. Cable runs are reliable to 10 metres with AWG26 cable; longer runs need active fibre or equalisers not included here.

Questions about this item
What clearance does the 5.91 x 2.36 x 0.79 inch chassis need for the IR remote sensor?
The IR remote requires line-of-sight to the front panel; allow at least 2 inches in front of the unit so the sensor is not blocked by cables or rack rails.
Which HDMI 2.0b handshake step causes a blank screen if skipped during first power-up?
Power on both source devices first, then the matrix, then the displays; this lets HDCP 2.2 authenticate before the 18.5 Gbps video stream starts.
When should the 3.5 mm and SPDIF audio ports be checked for dust or oxidation?
Inspect the two 3.5 mm L/R jacks and two Toslink ports every 12 months; compressed air keeps the optical lenses clear for 5.1 channel passthrough.
