7-Port PCIe USB 3.2 Expansion Card

The ESTONE PCIE25A2C3.2 adds seven USB 3.2 ports to a desktop through a single PCI Express x1 slot. Two ports use the USB-C connector and five use USB-A. It is intended for builders who need more high-speed ports for external drives, cameras or other peripherals.

Bandwidth and Charging Limits

All seven ports share a total 20 Gbps of bandwidth, so simultaneous transfers divide that pool. Each USB-C port can deliver up to 30 W of power, while each USB-A port supplies up to 7.5 W under the BC 1.2 protocol. Actual throughput depends on the connected device and the host controller.

Driver-First Installation

A RENESAS or VLI USB 3.0 driver must be installed before the card is recognised by Windows 7 through 11, Linux or Mac OS 10.8.2 and later. The card draws power from the PCIe slot alone, so no external power cable is needed. Over-current protection is built into every port. Buyers who need more than seven ports or a different slot form factor will need another solution.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 7-port model with two USB-C and five USB-A ports for my desktop?

This card adds seven USB 3.2 ports (two USB-C, five USB-A) through a single PCI Express x1 slot, giving you the full port count in one expansion card.

What does the 10 Gbps per-port rate mean when I connect multiple drives at once?

Each port can reach 10 Gbps when used alone, but the seven ports share a total 20 Gbps bandwidth, so simultaneous transfers divide that pool.

Does the PCI Express 2.0 x1 interface limit the 20 Gbps total bandwidth?

The card runs on a PCIe 2.0 x1 link, which caps theoretical throughput at roughly 5 Gbps, so the 20 Gbps USB aggregate cannot be fully saturated over the bus.
