Cable length and packaging

The ESTONE PQ099 is a USB-C to USB-C cable supplied as a two-pack with each lead measuring two metres. It is intended for users who need both charging and high-speed data links between USB-C hosts and peripherals.

Sustained transfer behaviour

The cable supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 operation at up to 20 Gbps, maintaining that rate during extended file moves to external SSDs or docking stations. Power delivery reaches 100 W at 20 V/5 A, allowing continuous charging of compatible laptops without throttling.

Installation notes

Both ends use male USB-C connectors, so no gender adapters are required. Video output at 4K 60 Hz or 2K 144 Hz works only when the host and display both support DP Alt Mode; otherwise the link falls back to data and charging only.

Questions about this item

Does the 20 Gbps cable run warm during all-day data transfers?

The cable is passive and designed for continuous 20 Gbps operation without active cooling, so it stays at normal temperatures during extended use.

What must my devices already have to use the 100 W charging and 4K 60 Hz video?

Both the host and the display or charger must provide USB-C ports with Power Delivery 3.0 or 2.0 and DisplayPort Alternate Mode support.

Will the 2 m cable work at full 20 Gbps speed with my older USB 3.1 Gen 1 laptop port?

The cable is backward compatible and will operate at the host port's maximum speed, so a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port limits transfers to 5 Gbps.
