What the cable does and who needs it

The ESTONE PQ106 is a USB 3.2 Type-C male-to-female extension cable sold as a two-pack. Each cable measures 6.6 feet and supports 10 Gbps data transfer plus 100 W power delivery. It suits users who need extra reach for charging or data between USB-C devices such as laptops, tablets, phones or the PSVR2 headset.

Installing it and common issues

Plug the male end into the host port and the female end accepts your existing USB-C cable. The connection is passive and requires no driver. Problems usually arise when the charger, source cable or device lacks 100 W or 10 Gbps capability, so actual speed and charging rate will fall back to the lowest link in the chain.

Check your setup before ordering

Verify that both the host and peripheral have full-featured USB-C ports supporting video alt mode if 4K display output is required. The cable will not fit USB-A or USB Mini-B ports. Ensure your power adapter and the cable you are extending are rated for the wattage and data speed you expect.

Should I choose the 6.6 ft version for a MacBook Pro 13 inch 2020 setup?

Yes, the 6.6 ft length works with MacBook Pro 13 inch 2020 and supports 100 W charging plus 10 Gbps data, matching the laptop's USB-C capabilities.
