Four optical fibres transmit the 32.4 Gbps HBR3 signal without the attenuation that limits copper cables at this distance. Gold-plated connectors and a zinc-alloy shell protect the optical interfaces. The assembly delivers stable 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz output continuously, with DSC 1.2 and HDR10 metadata passing through unchanged.

DP 1.4 link tops out at 32.4 Gbps

DisplayPort 1.4 caps raw bandwidth at 32.4 Gbps, so 8K 60 Hz and 4K 144 Hz rely on DSC 1.2 compression. Higher refresh rates at 8K or uncompressed 8K 60 Hz exceed the standard and are not supported. The cable is backwards compatible with DP 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1 sources, but those older ports cannot drive the highest resolutions listed.
