ESTONE TJ-A038 DP 1.4 to DP 1.4 + HDMI 2.1 Switch

This new ESTONE switch splits a single DisplayPort 1.4 source into simultaneous DisplayPort and HDMI outputs. It targets users who need to drive two monitors from one port without swapping cables. The device supports both mirror and extended desktop modes across Windows, macOS and Android systems. External power via the included USB cable is required for operation.

Maximum supported resolutions and refresh rates

The switch handles 8K at 30 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz over its combined outputs. At 1440p it supports up to 165 Hz on the DisplayPort output, while HDMI output at that resolution is limited to lower refresh rates. Bandwidth reaches 32.4 Gbps and the unit complies with DisplayPort 1.4, 1.3, 1.2 and 1.0 specifications. HDR and 4:4:4 chroma subsampling are also supported.

Included power cable and documentation

A DC 5 V USB power cable is bundled so the hub can draw the external power it requires. Printed instructions are also supplied to guide the initial setup and mode selection. No additional software or drivers are included in the package. Buyers who need more than two displays or a pure DisplayPort multi-stream hub without HDMI conversion will not be served by this model.

Questions about this item

What does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth mean when the switch is connected to a real PC?

It allows a single DisplayPort 1.4 source to drive two monitors simultaneously at up to 8K 30 Hz or 4K 120 Hz, provided the graphics card, cables and displays also support those rates.

Which DisplayPort and HDMI versions does the switch use, and what do they limit in practice?

The input is DisplayPort 1.4 and the outputs are DisplayPort 1.4 plus HDMI 2.1, capping combined throughput at 32.4 Gbps so 8K 30 Hz or 4K 120 Hz are the highest shared resolutions.

What physical space and power does the unit need to fit and mount in a setup?

The hub measures 12 by 6 by 0.08 inches and weighs 1.2 ounces; it requires the included USB 5 V power cable to operate.
