This active USB 3.0 extension cable spans 65 feet with a built-in signal booster chip. It connects a USB Type A male plug to a USB Type A female port for computers, Macs, tablets, VR headsets, printers, drives and other peripherals. The cord is black and rated for SuperSpeed USB 3.0 at 5 Gbps.

Sustained data rate over distance

The integrated smart chip compensates for signal attenuation that normally degrades long cable runs. A supplied 5V/2A power adapter must be used when the attached peripheral draws more than 900mA to maintain the 5 Gbps rate. Without external power the link may fall back to lower speeds or become unstable.

USB 3.0 interface practical limits

USB 3.0 defines a 5 Gbps signalling rate, roughly ten times the 480 Mbps of USB 2.0.
