50ft USB 3.0 Active Extension

This 50ft active USB 3.0 extension cable connects a computer or tablet to USB Type-A peripherals over long distances. It uses a built-in signal booster chip to maintain SuperSpeed data rates up to 5 Gbps. The male-to-female Type-A design works with hard drives, hubs, printers, VR headsets and other USB devices. No driver is required for Windows, Mac OS, Linux or Chrome OS.

Replaces passive cables beyond standard length

Passive USB 3.0 cables typically fail beyond 1.1 metres due to signal loss, while this active repeater reaches 50ft without degradation. The jump is worth it when the device must sit far from the host, such as VR sensors across a room or a printer in another area. The included 5V 2A power adapter is required whenever the attached peripheral draws more than 900mA.

Limited by USB 3.0 electrical specs

The cable obeys USB 3.0 signalling at 5 Gbps and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 at 480 Mbit/s and USB 1.1 devices. Total bus power available at the far end depends on the host port and the external adapter, not on the cable itself. Latency increases with length, so extremely timing-sensitive applications should be tested in situ.
