A USB 2.0 switch that lets two computers share four peripherals such as a printer, scanner, keyboard or mouse without cable swapping
This KVM switch lets two computers share up to four USB 2.0 peripherals such as a printer, scanner, mouse, keyboard or USB drive. It is designed for small offices or home setups where users want to avoid swapping cables or configuring network sharing. The device works with both PCs and Macs.
The unit draws all its power from the USB bus, so no external power adapter is required. Without fans or active components, it runs silently and adds virtually no heat to the desk. Power consumption stays within the limits of the host USB ports.
Front-panel buttons select which computer controls the connected peripherals at any moment. The plug-and-play design needs no driver installation on either system. Four downstream USB 2.0 ports and two upstream cables provide a tidy, cable-free way to share devices daily.

Plug each computer into one of the two upstream ports using USB cables, then connect up to four USB 2.0 devices such as a printer, scanner, mouse, keyboard or flash drive to the downstream ports. The unit is bus-powered so no external power supply is needed.
No routine maintenance is required. If a USB cable or port becomes damaged, replace the cable. The switch itself has no user-serviceable parts or consumable components.
The total bandwidth is shared across the four downstream ports at USB 2.0 rates, so simultaneous high-throughput transfers from multiple devices will contend for that single pool.
