ESTONE USB3.0M2M USB 3.0 A to A Male Cable 10ft 3-Pack Double End

USB 3.0 A-to-A cable three-pack

This three-pack supplies three 10 ft USB 3.0 Type A male-to-male cables for connecting peripherals such as hard-drive enclosures, DVD players, laptop coolers, cameras and hubs to a computer. Each cable is rated for SuperSpeed 5 Gbps transfer and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports. Gold-plated connectors and foil-plus-braid shielding protect signal integrity over the full length. No drivers are required; the cables work on a plug-and-play basis.

Practical limits of the USB 3.0 interface

The USB 3.0 specification caps the data rate at 5 Gbps, so real-world throughput will not exceed that ceiling regardless of the peripheral. The 10 ft length approaches the practical maximum for passive copper before signal quality can degrade, and the standard does not support direct computer-to-computer links. Backward compatibility allows use with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 hosts, but the connection will then run at the slower host speed.

Capacity and headroom for typical peripherals

The 5 Gbps bandwidth comfortably handles mechanical hard drives, optical drives, cooling pads and similar bulk-storage or media devices without saturating the link. High-speed SSDs or RAID enclosures that can exceed 5 Gbps will be bottlenecked by the cable rating. The connectors are tested to 10000 bending cycles, giving ample durability margin for repeated insertion and cable routing in desktop setups.
