The material suits model aircraft, drones and cosplay props where weight matters. One 1 kg spool yields roughly 2.2 times the printed volume of ordinary PLA.

Active foaming changes print behaviour

The filament expands up to 220 % during extrusion when temperature is raised between 210 and 270 °C. Higher temperatures increase foaming and lower part density while lower temperatures give denser, stronger layers. This single material replaces multiple spools for different weight targets. The matte surface finish takes paint easily without priming.

Dimensional tolerance sets the practical limit

Diameter accuracy is held to ± 0.05 mm so most direct-drive and Bowden extruders feed it reliably. The low-density melt can string if retraction is not tuned, and very high foaming reduces layer adhesion compared to solid PLA. Printed parts are more brittle than unfoamed filament so they suit non-structural shells rather than load-bearing frames.
